Hand Hygiene eLearning course free to all healthcare organisations worldwide

March 20, 2020

Healthcare professionals are on the front lines of caring for patients with confirmed or possible infection with coronavirus (COVID-19). They therefore have an increased risk of exposure during this pandemic. To help minimise their risk of exposure when carrying out their work it is recommended that they follow the Interim Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations for Patients with Suspected or Confirmed Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Healthcare Settings. One part of effective Infection Control is Hand Hygiene.

HMI’s learning and development partner, The Learning Rooms is making their Hand Hygiene eLearning course available for free to all healthcare organisations worldwide. Use of the course is unlimited. Healthcare organisations can host the course on their staff training portal or Learning Management System (LMS). If they do not have an LMS the course will run locally on any computer through a web browser. We will supply them with the eLearning package in a HTML 5, SCORM format.

About the Hand Hygiene online course

The Hand Hygiene online course is designed to equip participants working in a healthcare environment with essential hand hygiene knowledge. Participants will learn about industry best practices, such as why hand hygiene is so important, when to perform hand hygiene procedures, and the correct hand washing technique. This Hand Hygiene online course utilises WHO’s Five Moments for Hand Hygiene, so that learners understand the context and importance of hand hygiene.

By the end of this course, participants will understand:

  • Why hand hygiene is important
  • When to perform hand hygiene
  • How to prepare for hand hygiene
  • The hand hygiene technique
  • The WHO’s Five Moments of Hand Hygiene

Please contact john@thelearningrooms.com to be sent the files via DropBox.
