Irish Premature Babies
A new voluntary group to support the families of pre-term babies has been launched. The group offers information and emotional support to the families of premature babies. Check out their website www.irishprematurebabies.com where parents can find a range of information to help them on the premature journey and they can also read the stories of other families.

Bon Secours Hospital, Cork staff awarded HMI Certificates for completing the HMI Certificate in Healthcare Records
A total of 18 staff members from Bon Secours Hospital, Cork were proud recipients of HMI Certificates for successfully completing the HMI Certificate in Healthcare Records programme in March 2010. This popular programme is running both as an open and in-house programme across the country.
Bon Secours Hospital Cork opened its doors in 1915. It is now one of the largest independent Catholic Hospitals in Europe with 343 beds, catering for up to 18,200 admissions, and 29,000 outpatients attendances each year.

The Impact of Healthcare System Reforms on Management Practice, 30th March 2010
Results of the recent collaborative research project conducted by HMI and Health Systems Research Centre, University of Limerick have been published. The aim of the study was to identify health managers’ perceptions on the effect of change in their management practice arising from reforms in the healthcare system since 2004.
The survey was conducted online in September/October 2009 and was completed by 462 participants from different sectors and levels of the healthcare system in Ireland.
