“The Economics of Prescribing Decisions”

Health Economics has a vital role to play in the development of health services strategy and management in Ireland. This meeting will begin with a general introduction to health economics and will demonstrate the critical contribution it can make.  The second part of the evening will focus on the Adoption of Innovations and practical examples of the use of health economics in Ireland.

Jane Bourke research interests are primarily in the area of health economics and her doctoral thesis (University of Warwick) focused on the adoption of innovations in general practices in Ireland. She has a leading authority in the area of health economics and has presented her research at conferences in Ireland and internationally.
