HMI Fellowship for Mr Bernard Gloster
Last October, at the HMI Conference, HMI President Breda Crehan-Roche conferred the HMI Fellowship on Mr Bernard Gloster, CEO of the Health Service Executive, one of the Institute’s highest honours.
The Fellowship recognises Bernard Gloster’s exceptional leadership and longstanding contribution to health and social care management in Ireland. Over a distinguished 37-year career, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to public service, ethical leadership, and system-wide improvement.
Formerly CEO of Tusla Child and Family Agency , Bernard led significant organisational reform focused on accountability, quality, and person-centred care. Since assuming leadership of the HSE, he has continued to bring strategic vision, empathy, and a strong focus on collaboration, transparency, and improved outcomes for patients, service users and staff alike.
