About FETAC

The Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) is the statutory awarding body for further education and training in Ireland. FETAC makes quality assured awards that are part of the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) from levels 1-6.  Meeting learner need is central to the work of FETAC. FETAC:

  • Makes and promotes awards on the National Framework of Qualifications
  • Determines standards and award requirements
  • Validates programmes leading to awards
  • Monitors and quality assures programmes and services

Training Providers

All management development and healthcare records programmes/courses leading to a FETAC qualification are delivered through our training partners, shrc limited. shrc limited is a FETAC registered provider. shrc design and deliver training courses and programmes for organisations across the public and private sectors. Since 2003, shrc limited has collaborated with the Health Management Institute (HMI) on the development and delivery of training courses and programmes within the health sector. Within this context, shrc limited are quality assured by FETAC to deliver programmes and courses which lead to a FETAC qualification.

All manual handling and people handling instructor training programmes/courses leading to FETAC Level 6 certification are delivered through our training partners, Occupational Physiotherapy Solutions (OPS). OPS is a FETAC registered training provider. OPS consultants and associate consultants are all chartered physiotherapists and manual handling instructors. The Manual Handling Instructor Course and People Handling Instructor Course have both been validated by FETAC.
